As the cold weather sets in and thoughts turn to Xmas, think roasting chestnuts on an open fire and Noddy Holder on repeat in every shop and supermarket. Escape the madness by joining us at Tom’s Tap, where we have a packed program of events for your entertainment.
We have live music from University and Pain Program plus guests; Karma Cartel and Scarlett Fever; electronica from Fraktal Glass; Black Cactus; and the very popular U2 tribute, Angel of Harlem. There is also our annual ‘Room at the Inn’ fundraiser for the St Paul’s Centre featuring music from Damian Darlington (Brit Floyd) and We are Nomad plus more.
Our Tom’s Talk this month is from science fiction author and poet Sandra Bond author of the novel THREE MEN IN ORBIT (in which the “three men” from Jerome K. Jerome’s Three Men in a Boat take a steampunk vacation into space in an antigrav sphere, and become entangled with suffragettes and a bank robbery).
Dark beer lovers rejoice there is a dark beer and cheese matching taking place in Unit 5. This is very much a live event (I.e. not online), so get your tickets quick. If that’s not enough, we have another beer tasting event for The Twelve Stouts of Christmas! Celebrate NYE at our Roaring Twenties themed party (tickets only after 10pm), there will be cocktails.
Last but not least, hearty congratulations to our good friend Laura Hadland, who won Gold, Silver and Highly Commended awards from the British Guild of Beer Writers. We hope to have Laura back at Tom’s Tap next year to host another beer tasting which is all the better for her expert knowledge.
