It was both my privilege and pleasure to be the master of ceremonies for the Beautiful and Damned cocktail party held in The Green Room at Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse Limited. It was a small but select affair with the number of guests settling in to the comfortable surroundings.
The event was organised by Jacqui Ayling and was a celebration of the history of cocktails. Jacqui, not only mixed the drinks but also gave some background as to how they were made. My job was to provide some relevant history and a few fun facts about the year in which the cocktail was first created.
As each cocktail was savoured the conversation became merrier and maybe a little bit louder. As Master of Ceremonies, the most enjoyable thing was seeing people come together with a common interest and enjoying each other’s company. In my opinion this is what it was all about.
Would we do it again? Absolutely! It was a fantastic afternoon and as the old cliche goes, “a good time was had by all”.
