It’s been postponed twice but this year, Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse’s famous cider festival will finally go ahead this year.

You could be forgiven for not being aware of our cider festival given the things we’ve gone through in the last couple of years. We held the first one in August 2019 and had scheduled the second for Easter 2020. With Covid we then realised that we’d have to push it back 12 months and really thought that it would go ahead in 2021 only for another lockdown to postpone it.

We took the decision not to have it at Easter this year, partly because we couldn’t guarantee there wouldn’t be another lockdown and partly because of the other events already taking place in Nantwich over the Easter Weekend. It will now run from 2-5th June during the Bank Holiday Weekend.

So, what do we have for you? For a start we will have ten draft keg conditioned ciders and perries served a little warmer than our usual 4 degrees celsius from our trailer bar. This will allow some of the flavours to burst out of the glass. Jacqui and I are scouring the UK for some of the best cider known to humankind but as well as that we’ve also got three events on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Albert Johnson of Ross on Wye Cider and Perry will be coming to do a tutored tasting on Thursday 2nd June (tickets here). On Friday 3rd we have acclaimed pommellier Cath Potter coming to give a talk entitled “Choosing The Right Cider For You” (tickets here) and on Saturday 4th we have a cheese and cider pairing evening with Nick Birchall of Nantwich Cheese Shop and Jacqui (tickets here).

All in all an absolute must attend for the cider enthusiast. We look forward to seeing you there.
